Secondwind — Support

Last updated 23 August 2026

Secondwind is an interval timer for iPhone, made by PNW Solutions, a trade name of PNW Sound Solutions LLC. If something is not working, or the app does not do what you expected, please write to us — we would rather hear about it than have you delete the app.

Every message is read by a person. Secondwind is made by a small team, so please allow a couple of working days for a reply. There is no account to verify and no ticket number to quote — just write.

You can also reach us without leaving the app: tap the question mark at the top right and choose Feedback. That opens a message to the same address in whichever mail app you use.

Reporting a problem

If you are reporting a fault, these details make it far quicker to find:

A screen recording is worth a great deal if the problem is something you can see.

Common questions

My timer made no sound

Check the master volume at the bottom of the main menu — it scales everything the app plays. Note that Secondwind deliberately sounds through the silent switch, so silencing your phone will not silence your timer; that is on purpose, because a timer you cannot hear has not done its job. If the interface clicks have gone quiet but chimes still play, that is the separate Sound effects switch, which never silences an alarm.

My run stopped while I was not looking at it

Secondwind keeps running in the background and will keep chiming with the screen off. It does not survive being closed: if you swipe the app away in the app switcher, the run ends with it, and the next launch opens your list ready to start again rather than half-finished. Phone calls are handled — a run survives one and carries on afterwards.

How do I turn the spoken cues off?

They are in the main menu at the top left, on their own row that shows whether they are on. Turning them off leaves every chime and alarm playing.

How do I stop the app sending usage data?

Tap the question mark at the top right and choose Analytics. That screen lists exactly what is collected and has a switch to stop it. It takes effect immediately and the app behaves identically either way. See our privacy policy for the detail.

Where are my lists stored, and can I get them back?

Everything — your timers, saved lists, run counts and achievements — is stored only on your iPhone. We hold no copy, so there is nothing on a server for us to restore. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.

The Lock Screen card is still there after I closed the app

Closing the app ends the run, and the Lock Screen card marks itself Ended shortly afterwards. Opening Secondwind once clears it away completely.

Requests and feedback

Feature requests are genuinely welcome and they do get read. If Secondwind is missing something you need, the address above is the right place for it.

Privacy

Our privacy policy is here. The short version: Secondwind has no accounts, never collects anything you type, and the anonymous usage figures it does send can be switched off inside the app.
